The Korean Academy (KORA) is pleased to announce the successful completion of Phase 1 of the KORA Internship Program. This phase marked an important milestone in our ongoing effort to build a structured academic and research-oriented ecosystem for students interested in Korean language learning, higher education pathways, and interdisciplinary research.
Phase 1 focused on orientation, foundational training, and setting clear expectations for interns. Participants were introduced to KORA’s academic vision, internship structure, learning objectives, and ethical standards. The session also aimed to align interns with the long-term goals of the program, including skill development, academic growth, and responsible collaboration.
During this phase, interns gained clarity on their roles, communication responsibilities, and learning outcomes. Special attention was given to helping students understand how academic mentoring, language proficiency, and research exposure can collectively strengthen their profiles for opportunities such as Korean university admissions, scholarships, and research programs.
We are encouraged by the level of engagement and seriousness shown by the interns who participated in Phase 1. Their interest in structured learning, mentorship, and academic growth reflects the demand for transparent and guided pathways in Korean language education and research.
KORA also introduced an intern-exclusive academic pathway during this phase. This initiative is designed to support interns who wish to further develop their Korean language skills or research experience through discounted, mentor-led programs. Participation in this pathway remains optional and is intended for students who are genuinely committed to academic advancement.
As we move forward, the next phase of the internship program will focus on deeper involvement, practical exposure, and skill application. Detailed information regarding Phase 2, timelines, and onboarding will be shared with selected interns in due course.
