The Korean Academy × Seoul Restaurant: A New Student Benefit for Korean Food and Cultural Experiences in Delhi

The Korean Academy for Language and Culture (KORA) is pleased to announce a new cultural and student-benefit collaboration with Seoul Restaurant – Korean Grill & Cuisine, located at Ansal Plaza, New Delhi.

Formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) dated 14 August 2026, this collaboration brings together Korean language education, Korean cultural engagement and authentic Korean cuisine. The partnership introduces an exclusive dining benefit for verified KORA students and eligible members of the KORA community, while creating opportunities for students to experience Korean food and culture beyond the classroom.

This marks The Korean Academy’s first MoU with an Indian restaurant based in Delhi and represents an important step towards building a broader ecosystem of Korean cultural experiences and student benefits for the KORA community.

The MoU establishes the collaboration between The Korean Academy for Language and Culture, represented by Co-Founder Mr. Gurpreet Singh, and Seoul Restaurant – Korean Grill & Cuisine, Ansal Plaza, New Delhi, represented by Mr. Rohit Sharma.

About the Collaboration

The partnership has been established around two primary objectives: providing dining benefits to verified members of The Korean Academy and promoting Korean cuisine and cultural experiences through KORA’s official channels.

Under the MoU, the collaboration is specifically focused on food, non-alcoholic beverages, Korean cuisine and Korean cultural experiences. KORA may promote Seoul Restaurant through its website, Instagram account, student communications and other official channels.
The partnership is therefore more than a conventional restaurant discount. It is intended to provide KORA students with opportunities to engage with Korean culture in a real-world setting while supporting connections between Korean cultural education and the Korean food community in Delhi.

Exclusive KORA Student Dining Benefits

Verified eligible students of The Korean Academy can receive the following benefits at the participating Seoul Restaurant outlet:

20% OFF on eligible food items

10% OFF on non-alcoholic beverages

The 20% food discount covers the food items listed in Annexure A of the MoU. The price schedule contains 105 covered food items across several categories of Korean and Korean-inspired cuisine.
The 10% discount applies to non-alcoholic beverages, with the restaurant’s itemised beverage price list to form part of the applicable price schedule once formally furnished.

Who Can Use the Benefit?

The MoU defines an “Eligible Student” as an enrolled student, alumnus or registered community member of The Korean Academy who successfully completes the required verification process.

Students should present acceptable proof of their KORA affiliation at the restaurant before the discount is applied. This may include a Korean Academy student identity card, enrolment confirmation, admission email or another form of proof agreed between the parties.

For KORA students, the simplest method will be to present their KORA Digital Student ID at the time of billing.

The restaurant is responsible for verifying eligibility before applying the discount.

Where Can Students Use the Offer?

The benefit under this MoU is currently applicable at:

Seoul Restaurant – Korean Grill & Cuisine
C-308, Third Floor, Ansal Plaza Mall
Khel Gaon Marg, New Delhi – 110049

This is the participating outlet specifically covered by the agreement.

The Seoul Restaurant outlet at MGF Metropolitan Mall, Saket, is not covered by the fixed discount under this MoU. Any future benefit at that location would require a separate written agreement before KORA can promote it.

Offer Validity

The collaboration and student dining benefit are valid for twelve months:

14 August 2026 to 13 August 2027

The MoU takes effect on 14 August 2026 and remains valid until 13 August 2027 unless it is renewed or terminated earlier according to the terms of the agreement. The partnership may also be renewed through mutual written agreement.

Students are therefore encouraged to make use of the benefit throughout the validity period while visiting Seoul Restaurant.

What Food Is Covered?

The 20% student discount applies to 105 food items listed in Annexure A of the MoU. The menu is divided into a variety of categories, giving KORA students an opportunity to explore different styles of Korean cuisine.

Some of the categories include:

Signature Menu

The signature selection includes dishes such as Yeom-so Suyuk, Ori Hunjae Suyuk, Bossam, Jokbal, Shabu Shabu, Dongpo Pork and Mala Xiang Guo.

Example of the Student Discount

The MoU provides an illustrative calculation for a dish originally priced at ₹799.

Original menu price: ₹799.00
KORA student discount at 20%: ₹159.80
Discounted price: ₹639.20
5% government tax on discounted value: ₹31.96
Total payable: ₹671.16

The 5% government tax is applied to the discounted bill value in accordance with the agreement.

The MoU also states that no additional service charge, cover charge, packaging charge or minimum-order condition will apply unless expressly recorded in the agreement.

Can Students Visit in Groups?

Yes.

The agreement allows the discount to apply whether an eligible student visits alone, as part of a group of KORA students, or with accompanying guests, provided that at least one eligible student is present and verified.

The discount is applied to eligible items on the single table bill.

This makes the collaboration particularly useful for KORA students who want to introduce friends or family members to Korean cuisine while enjoying their student benefit.

A Korean Cultural Experience Beyond the Classroom

One of the key ideas behind this collaboration is to connect language learning with cultural experience.

Learning Korean is not limited to grammar, vocabulary and classroom activities. Food, dining traditions and everyday cultural experiences are also important ways to understand Korean society.

Through this collaboration, KORA students have an opportunity to experience Korean cuisine in Delhi while continuing their engagement with Korean culture outside their regular learning environment.

For students who are interested in Korea, Korean language, K-dramas, Korean food or Korean culture, dining at a Korean restaurant can become another practical way to explore aspects of Korean culture.

The MoU specifically identifies Korean cuisine and Korean cultural experiences as part of the scope of the partnership.

Future Korean Cultural Initiatives

The collaboration also leaves room for future activities.

Subject to mutual written agreement, KORA and Seoul Restaurant may explore initiatives such as K-Food and Korean culture events, student meet-ups, Instagram giveaways, Korean language and culture workshops and special student dining offers.

This creates the possibility of developing the partnership beyond a simple restaurant discount and into a broader cultural collaboration.

Future activities could provide KORA students with opportunities to meet other learners, explore Korean food, participate in cultural activities and engage with Korean culture in a more interactive environment.

Group Set Menus

The MoU also records Seoul Restaurant’s group set-menu rates for reference.

The restaurant currently lists:

Basic Set Menu: ₹1,000 + 5% GST per person

Premium Set Menu: ₹1,250 + 5% GST per person

Unlimited BBQ: ₹1,500 + 5% GST per person

The group menus include combinations of barley tea, banchan, stir-fried dishes, traditional favourites, casseroles, sticky rice and seasonal fruit, depending on the selected package. The restaurant also states a group policy under which, for every 15 paid guests, the 16th guest dines free. Vegetarian options are available on request, and menu cards are available in English and Korean.

It is important to note that the 20% KORA student discount does not automatically apply to these group set menus. Its applicability must be confirmed by the restaurant in writing before a set menu is promoted to students.

Important Information About the Offer

The collaboration is focused exclusively on food, non-alcoholic beverages, Korean cuisine and Korean cultural experiences.

The Korean Academy does not endorse, promote or recommend alcoholic beverages under this collaboration. Alcoholic beverages are excluded from the student discount and must be billed at the restaurant’s full menu price.

Students should therefore ensure that their KORA benefit is applied only to eligible food and non-alcoholic beverage items.

How to Avail the KORA Benefit

The process is simple:

  1. Visit the participating Seoul Restaurant outlet at Ansal Plaza, New Delhi.

  2. Order eligible food and/or non-alcoholic beverages.

  3. At the time of billing, present your KORA Digital Student ID or another accepted proof of KORA affiliation.

  4. The restaurant will verify your eligibility.

  5. The applicable 20% food discount and 10% non-alcoholic beverage discount will then be applied to eligible items.

  6. The applicable 5% government tax will be calculated on the discounted value.

Students should verify their bill before completing payment and ensure that the discount has been applied to the eligible items.

A Step Towards a Stronger KORA Community

For The Korean Academy, this collaboration represents an important expansion of what it means to be part of the KORA community.

KORA aims to provide students with opportunities that extend beyond online Korean language learning. By building relationships with businesses and organisations connected to Korean culture, the Academy can create practical benefits and cultural experiences for its students and community members.

The Seoul Restaurant collaboration is an initial step in this direction.

As KORA continues to develop, the Academy intends to explore additional collaborations that can provide students with meaningful benefits while helping them engage with Korean language and culture in everyday life.

Partnership Promotion

As part of the MoU, KORA may promote Seoul Restaurant through its website, Instagram account, student communications and other official channels at its discretion and without cost to the restaurant.

Students may also take photographs of their dining experiences and share them with KORA. Subject to the appropriate permissions, KORA may publish suitable student-generated content on its social media and other channels and may send Instagram collaboration requests to Seoul Restaurant.

This provides an opportunity for students to share their experiences while helping the wider KORA community discover Korean dining experiences in Delhi.
