The Korean Academy has reached an important academic milestone with the launch of the KORA Journal of Korean Language & Studies (KJKS), a new platform dedicated to supporting research in Korean language, Korean language education, and Korean studies.

Published by The Korean Academy, KJKS was established in response to the growing need for an integrated research platform where students, researchers, educators, and scholars can share their work and contribute to the development of Korean language and Korean studies. The journal aims to create meaningful connections between language, research, education, culture, and technology while providing opportunities for emerging researchers to bring their ideas to a wider academic community.

KJKS welcomes research across a broad range of areas, including Korean linguistics, Korean language teaching and learning, second-language acquisition, translation and interpreting, Korean literature and media, and language technology. The journal also accepts original research and review articles covering theoretical developments, classroom-based research, corpus and data resources, and applied solutions related to Korean language and Korean studies.

One of the most meaningful aspects of KJKS is its commitment to students and emerging scholars. For students conducting research in Korean language and Korean studies, having a dedicated academic platform can provide an important opportunity to share their findings, develop their academic writing, and become part of the wider research community. KJKS seeks to make research more accessible while encouraging students to explore new questions and contribute their perspectives to the field.

The journal accepts submissions from authors worldwide in both English and Korean. It follows a peer-review process and is published twice a year, in June and December, providing researchers with regular opportunities to contribute their work.

The launch of KJKS therefore represents more than the introduction of another academic journal. It marks the beginning of a platform where research, language, culture, and academic collaboration can come together. As Korean language education and research continue to grow internationally, initiatives such as KJKS can play an important role in creating opportunities for the next generation of researchers.

Heartiest congratulations to The Korean Academy on this remarkable achievement and to everyone involved in making KJKS possible. We also extend our congratulations to all students, researchers, educators, and scholars whose dedication to Korean language and Korean studies will help shape the future of this journal.

KJKS is envisioned as a space where students can share their research, scholars can build connections, and new ideas can contribute to a deeper understanding of Korean language and culture. May this new academic journey bring many meaningful discoveries, collaborations, and opportunities for researchers around the world.

KORA Journal of Korean Language & Studies (KJKS) is peer-reviewed, open access, and published twice a year.
